University of Malta Now Offering Masters in Blockchain and DLT

The University of Malta is now offering a Masters in Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology program for its students, Crowdfund Insider reported today. The master’s program is one of the first of its kind and was formally introduced on October 3 at Malta’s DELTA Summit.

According to the University’s website:

The programme is primarily intended for students coming from an ICT, Law or Business related background and with a first degree or an equivalent professional qualification in their area of specialisation. However, students not in possession of such a qualification but who can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Board that their background, qualifications and experience equips them to follow the degree programme, may still apply.

The program includes both full-time (3 semesters) and part-time (6 semesters) course options and is designed to attract students with an undergraduate degree in Business and Finance, Information and Communication Technology, or Law and Regulation. It offers an “introduction to the various Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) disciplines to all students coming from the different streams, and provides advanced units to students within their specific stream.”

Crowdfund Insider reported that the program has roughly 35 students currently enrolled. Masters Program Director Joshua Ellul confirmed that 15 different companies have already been in contact with the program’s students.
